Floyd's fight with Don Moore is Cancelled
Fans Disappointed but Understand.
The event so many were looking forward to is no more!
According to close sources of both Mayweather and Moore, the fight has been cancelled following the death of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the United Arab Emirates.
Mayweather was due to face Moore on the helipad of the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah hotel in Dubai. He told members of the press, “having a fight on the helipad of the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai and the opportunity to be the star of the show is going to be something I will remember always. ”
The UAE’s ministry of presidential affairs announced a period of mourning that will last 40 days and a three-day suspension of work in all ministries and the private sector.
Mayweather paid tribute to Sheikh Khalifa, writing on Instagram, "Sending my condolences to the entire UAE. RIP Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed."
